![]() With rumors of the "God of Fighting" circulating, Armor King revealed to his student that the elusive entity was the one most likely responsible. By this time, the now 28-year-old wrestler was a worthy heir to the throne, however, he longed to punish the one responsible for the original King's death. For four years, the two of them trained, and the new King learned quickly, maturing into a forceful wrestler with extreme power, known as King II. ![]() This man revealed himself to be Armor King, who was interested in finding out if the rumors of a new King were true. One day, however, another man with a mask visited the new King, introducing himself as an old friend. However, since his technique was learned just from watching King, not training with him, he lost every competition he entered. Seeing that the orphanage would crumble into ruin (the money gained from King's wrestling matches was the only funding received), this man donned the mask of King and imitated his style. Until the age of 24, this wrestler worked hard with King until one day, news broke of the first King's death at the hands of Ogre. The second King was a street urchin who was brought up in the first King's orphanage. Ogre attacked several martial artists around the world, including King, who was killed. Sometime later on, Ogre, the God of Fighting, was awakened from an ancient ruin in Mexico by Heihachi Mishima's Tekken Force. He also taught his fighting skills to the children under his care as a means of self-defense. After the tournament, King participated in both pro-wrestling and martial arts tournaments to win money for his orphanage. He battled Armor King in a rematch at the tournament and was defeated. King trained intensely and recovered from his alcoholism. He would have died had he not been convinced by his old friend and rival, Armor King, to again wear the jaguar mask and join the King of Iron Fist Tournament 2. After a child died in his care, King became depressed and, giving up his jaguar mask, returned to the street and became an alcoholic. King entered the first King of Iron Fist Tournament and after defeating Armor King managed to place third, winning enough prize money to continue supporting the orphanage. King has won many titles since, whilst the injury caused Armor King's career to plummet. Early in his career King accidentally crushed the eye of Armor King during a match. It was at this time that King came to the attention of his future rival Armor King, one of a wrestling Tag Team who also wore Jaguar masks. To bring income to the orphanage, King fought in wrestling matches, donning his now iconic Jaguar mask to conceal his identity and acquiring the title "Beast Priest". Eventually he was successful in building an orphanage, but funds were tight. ![]() He then became a man with a mission he dreamed of building an orphanage for street children, hoping to save them from becoming the kind of person he used to be. He became a Catholic priest and renounced his old fighting ways. After recovering, King realized the error of his ways and resolved to start a new life. The Marquez priests saved him from death. In one of his fights, King was grievously wounded and collapsed in front of a monastery. The first King used to be a ruthless street brawling orphan with no care in the world except for fighting. Reception of the character has been very positive since the beginning of the series, with King described as a "fan favorite" and considered one of the series' most iconic characters.Ĭharacter backstory King I The character of King has been in all the Tekken games to date, with King I being in Tekken and Tekken 2, and King II debuting in Tekken 3 and being in every subsequent game since. The characters were inspired by the pro wrestler Satoru Sayama, as well as Mexican wrestler Fray Tormenta, a Catholic priest who became a masked wrestler in order to support an orphanage. King ( Japanese: キング, Hepburn: Kingu) is the name of two fictional characters in the Tekken fighting game series. To simplify, nearly all speakers will output an uneven level of sounds across its frequency response, being lounder or quieter as you move from the bass region up to the treble region. No speaker in its own right can achieve this without some form of correction or 'equalisation', these methods generally being frowned on within the hifi community. The 'perfect' speaker would output the same sound pressure level across the audible spectrum if it was fed with a test tone (again, spanning the audible spectrum) across its given frequency response, for arguments sake say 20Hz to 20kHz with 0dB as the reference. Okay, so ART speakers are linear, so I suppose I kind of know what that is, but how are "non-linear" speakers diffeerent?Īre B&W 800 Series and Spendor A6 or ST speakers, etc. Regarding Kings X I've liked the band for about twenty years, hence my internet handle being Kingsxfan!Ĭan someone please explain the primary differences between "linear" and "non-linear" speakers, regarding construction and performance. If you can hold of a pair of Deco 10 Signatures or Emotion Signatures to listen to, you may hear your music collection in a totally different light. If its not not there, you won't hear or feel it. The Emotions, which are very, very similar to the Deco 10's, do seriously deep bass, but it has to be on the recording to be felt and heard. ![]() The Deco 10's go right the way down to 23Hz and are only +/-2dB across their audio band 23Hz - 25kHz which is truly superb linearity, but you'd expect such performance for the outlay. Anyone who has spent time with mine in my set-up has really, really enjoyed them, go figure! When they do hear them, they think something is missing, when all that is missing are the sometimes wide errors in frequency response/curve.Ī lot of people who dislike ART have only ever heard them for five or ten minutes at a show or-the-like. It appears there are many people who are not comfortable, or totally unfamiliar with the reproduction of a linear speaker. Many speakers have a hump or emphasis in the bass or high frequencies, or a dip in the mid-band which highlights the mid to lower bass regions to give the impression of impact or maybe what you are describing as a dynamics. What you're hearing is probably a very balanced reproduction. With performance like this they will be quite revealing of your equipment and the recording. The Deco 8 actually go down to 31Hz and spec wise, are quite linear in their response with only +/-3dB variation across 31Hz - 20kHz. He very much helped me on my way to achieving my goals with hifi, especially with my speakers. He's given me some extremely sound advice and he knows his stuff when it comes to ART. I can't imagine anything else out there is going to cut it.īTW, do you like the band King's X, I have not heard any of their stuff since "Gretchen Goes To Nebraska?" I'm at the point where I think the Deco 15 Signatures is the way to go. I primarily listen to rock music, so bass is very important in the portrayal. Every other speaker I listened to at Sevenoaks Hi-Fi (Holborn) and Grahams Hi-Fi in London were are least three-way, if not four-way, which obviously emphasised the bass more. I was really disarmed and taken with their transparent clarity, but felt there was a bit lacking in bottom end dynamic with the two-way configuration for the cost of the speakers. Paul at Jordan Accoustics kindly lent me a demo pair of Deco 8 Signatures forthree weeks. KingsX, thanks for your comment, gosh you have some serious kit!!! Actually, I was dealing with Jordan Accoustics, but I did speak to Derek as well. One thing is for sure, all you get with A.R.T is the music! I can never see myself moving away from the A.R.T. make some truly great loudspeakers, plus you'll never get to deal with any nicer guys than Derek or Ramsey. ![]() These are the first speakers that made me forget about the kit and think only of expanding my music collection. Hopefully, Valve will use the success of the Steam Deck as a springboard for its new VR headset. Sony’s offering is already being considered a premium option and a higher-priced device may struggle in a market that is the in midst of a recession. It will be interesting to see how Valve competes with lower-priced options that are currently available in the market. The budget-friendly device has received positive reviews and Meta has shipped over 10 million headsets since its release. Meta also released the Meta Quest 2 for just $299. Valve is facing stiff competition from lower-priced but feature-packed devices such as the PS VR2 and Meta Quest 2. The PS VR2 has received glowing reviews from gamers for being a feature-packed device. Recently, Sony released the PlayStation VR2 headset at half the price of a Valve Index. However, Valve’s Index is priced at $1,000 and faces strong competition from other headsets that are available for a lower price. The Steam Deck’s success is partly due to the device launching with a lower price tag compared to other handheld PCs on the market. The Steam Deck is now part of Valve's long-term plans with a successor already in the pipeline. Last year, the company introduced the Steam Deck, which became a huge hit among gamers looking for a portable gaming option. With that said, it's clear Valve is taking hardware development seriously. Interestingly, there are rumors that Valve’s Half-Life: Alyx is coming to PS VR2, which might have something to do with Valve's ongoing interest in the VR market. Product designer Greg Coomer confirmed that the company is developing a new VR headset. However, he cannot reveal the specifics of the upcoming VR device. In an interview with the Korean website, This is Game, Coomer states that Valve is developing a new VR headset. According to Greg Coomer, a product designer at Valve, the company is not giving up on the VR market. Valve has been quietly continuing its efforts in making a new VR headset. But, while it'd be easy to assume for Valve to give up on the VR industry after the success of the Steam Deck, this isn't the case. Valve’s VR headset has faced stiff competition from the likes of Oculus and HTC Vive in a struggling market. Valve's current headset is already four years old. The Virtual Reality headset market might not be in the best shape but Valve still insists on developing a newer headset to replace the Valve Index, which came out in 2019. ![]() The competitive nature of Heroes of the Storm will, I believe, make for another platform that Blizzard can use in a competitive scene. The MOBA, for short, is potentially the hottest game genre to come out of the 21st century, so far. Legendary heroes and villains from Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo are summoned to the Nexus. Blizzards MOBA-inspired FPS may have lost its relevance against games like Valorant and Apex Legends, but it remains distinct and stalwart in its place as the least traditional shooter out there. ![]() What's good?
